Born December 31, 1966 in Winchester, Indiana to Kenneth Earl Thrasher and Glenda Elise Holt Thrasher. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2023.
Lisa was a 1985 graduate of Clinton County High School. Graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1989 with a B.S. in Nursing. Earned a masters degree in nursing from EKU in 2001. Worked as a nurse at the University of Kentucky Medical Center from June 1989 to April 1990 then continued as a nurse at the Lake Cumberland Home Health Agency from April 1990 to March 2003. Lisa became a State Farm Agent in March 2003 and started her insurance and financial career in the Albany office which she maintained until her passing.
She was a member of the Albany First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for the last 30 years. She was also a long time member of the youth and children committees as well as the Budget and Finance Committee. Lisa was a volunteer for many vacation bible schools as well as participating in local mission projects and a mission trip to Brazil in 2012 with her family.
She was a charter member of the Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center Board.
She was a member of the Albany/Clinton County Chamber of Commerce as well as a past president of that organization.
Lisa enjoyed exercising and running which included completing several half marathons as well as a full marathon in 2011. She also enjoyed boating on Dale Hollow Lake and traveling with her family and friends especially to the beach.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father Ken Thrasher.
Survived by her husband of over 33 years Mike Beard. They were wed on June 17, 1989. One son, Ryan Beard of Louisville, Kentucky and one daughter Alex Beard of Nashville, Tennessee.
Her mother Elise Holt Thrasher. Her sisters – Barbara Thrasher (& Eric Dicken) of Albany, Vicky Alley (& Dwayne) of Byrdstown, TN, Diane Alexander (& Chris) of Burkesville, KY, and Tina Langford (& Mike) of Monroe, TN.
Her father and mother in-law, Roger and Patricia Beard.
Her nieces and nephews – Rachel Bernard (& Tony), Ashley Wolfe (& Jared), Kenny Garmon (& Lindsey), Bart Parrigin (& Holly), Alyssa Boaz (& John), Colby Langford (& Kaitie), Colin Langford (& Leslie), and Cori Langford. Several step nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the AFBC youth and children ministry, the Twin Lakes Family Wellness Center or Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
